This Closed Alpha is our first pass at bringing March of Giants to life. It will not be perfect. You may encounter bugs, rough balance, and unpredictable moments, all of which are vital to shaping development through player feedback. This test represents only a portion of the content planned for full release. Future phases will expand the experience with new gameplay features, broader regional access, and additional language support. The Closed Alpha includes:

• 15 playable Giants
• 5 Battleworks
• One PvP Map and the Breach game mode
• Custom Games, Bot Matches, and Tutorials

Schedule

The Closed Alpha runs from Tuesday, September 2 at 1 PM ET | 10 AM PT through Sunday, September 14. On the first day, PvP matchmaking will open later in the day at 8 PM ET | 5 PM PT.

At the start of the Closed Alpha, our main goal is to make sure everything runs smoothly while we gradually scale up concurrent player capacity. That means you might run into longer queue times early on.

Feedback & Bug Reports

The team is closely monitoring feedback for March of Giants across many channels, but the most direct way to ensure your voice is heard is to join the March of Giants Discord server (site original, s'ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)! Given the short duration of the Closed Alpha, we will focus on addressing the most significant issues around stability, performance, and balance. We really want to hear your feedback on these key categories:

• Giants
• Soldiers
• Battleworks
• The Breach Game Mode and Map
• Onboarding and Tutorials
• Itemization, Augments, and Power Progression

Players in the Closed Alpha can follow the main-menu prompt to sign in or create an Amazon Games iD, then link their Steam. Linking your Amazon Games iD comes with multiple rewards:

• Giant Unlock: Use a token to instantly unlock a Giant of your choice
• Pre-launch Rewards: Be recognized for being pre-launch player with rewards delivered later in development

Unlocking Giants

Players will initially have access to 10 semi-randomized Giants, with the remaining 5 being unlocked through in-game challenges. To ensure everyone can play the Giants they’re most interested in during the Closed Alpha, these challenges have been tuned to be very quick to complete. We plan to adjust the exact mechanics for unlocking Giants in future tests. Progress - including unlocked Giants - won’t carry over to future tests.

Future Tests

Thank you for joining us in the Closed Alpha. When the next test arrives, players from this Closed Alpha will be invited to join us again. While the wait may be longer than some will expect, that time is necessary for us to act on your feedback, build new features, and make meaningful improvements. The best place to keep up with future development updates and be notified about upcoming tests is the March of Giants Discord server (site original, s'ouvre dans un nouvel onglet).

How To Join The Closed Alpha

Not signed up for the March of Giants Closed Alpha yet?

1. Visit the March of Giants Steam Playtest Page (site original, s'ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)
2. Click “Request Access”
3. If selected, you’ll receive a notification email from Steam and will then be able to download the game directly from your library

Please note that access is limited to players in North America and is only available in English for this phase. Invitations will be sent in waves throughout the Alpha period, so keep an eye on your Steam notifications.

Inviting Friends To Play In The Closed Alpha

Closed Alpha players can send their Steam friends invites to the game!

1. Go to March of Giants in your Steam Library page
2. Click the Invite button and select the friends you want to invite

Please note that you must be friends on Steam for more than 30 days to invite them to the Closed Alpha. Additionally, the servers for the Closed Alpha are located in North America - friends invited from other regions are likely to experience significant ping and a degraded match experience. Due to the potential for friend invites to significantly increase the amount of players in the game, we will be closely monitoring the player count and may adjust the numbers of invites available or disable new invites.
