Pioneer

Background

"He waits beneath thought. He drinks beneath death. He comes." The chanting of the cultists that speak for the Voidmaster is heavy and rhythmic. Wherever the entity appears, minds bend toward it. Soldiers become worshippers, worshippers become a congregation, and it speaks and chants with one voice. With every mind surrendered and every death offered in its presence, Voidmaster becomes more substantial and more powerful. It's cultists claim this is only an aspect of something immeasurably greater waiting beyond the Void Desolate. Perhaps enough people believing in it will make them right.

Voidmaster's war-shell started as a dirigible designed to destroy the nightmare if its cultists dreamt it into existence. It failed; its crew was immediately brainwashed and lowered the vessel so that the Voidmaster could graft itself onto the hull. Voidmaster's crew complement are all dedicated cultists who rarely, if ever, leave their post, and speak in a disturbing unison whenever they open comms.

Both corrupt soldiers into cultists and grow through rituals; same tentacled figure. The wording is close, not identical.
