How Battleworks work
Battleworks are deployable units, buildings and earthworks. Giants can order them anywhere, at any time, as long as they have the supplies. While being built they are vulnerable, and supplies spent are not refunded.
Stomp
Aim at the ground to create a shockwave that kills soldiers and uproots the trees in the area. Part of the soldiers in mid-charge are killed and the rest are frightened; soldiers that are not charging are killed.
Damage types
Giants specialise in melee or ranged attacks, and their basic attack deals kinetic or alchemic damage.
Lane units
  • Tank Dagger: fast rate of fire, moderate damage
  • Tank Lancer: slower rate of fire, higher damage
  • Supply airship: drops supplies that any Giant can pick up
Announced design direction
Expanded Soldier roles; more Battlework interaction/counterplay; expanded itemization; spaces between lanes more important; new Giants; returning roster updated

Creative director
Xavier Marquis
The studio
A studio created in Montreal with Amazon, specialised in the MOBA genre, with a strong competitive multiplayer DNA
The starting idea
Bring to a MOBA the great battles that strategy games told: the player is still one individual in a group, but no longer in an arena, on a battlefield
Why World War I
World War I, a little caricatured, for its trenches and its lines where soldiers and units crash into each other: units that follow a set course yet can be manoeuvred, a ground that can be physically reshaped, and weapons of gunpowder and cannons instead of sword, shield and magic
Why a Giant
World War I blended with fairy tale: a creature of fairy tales that fits the battlefield and its soldiers, a Giant
Development
In development since 2021, first at Amazon Games Montreal
Setting
A war-torn urban setting inspired by the period of World War I
