Soldiers (general behaviour)

Pioneer

In the game's Codex

  • Allied soldiers instinctively rally to nearby giants, following their every move without question.
  • Command your forces with simple tactics: Order a charge [D] to unleash your soldiers' fury, or signal retreat [F] to recall them to you.
  • Charging soldiers are giants' main vulnerability.
  • Additionally, you can release them from your control at any point by pressing [F] twice, or send a small scouting charge by pressing [Shift][D].
  • Experiment with soldiers to discover all kinds of potential gameplay effects, tactics, and strategies.

In the game's tutorial

Soldiers automatically rally to nearby Giants and can be used to send critical charges at any target. They are extremely strong against buildings. They can damage Outposts even when they're closed. And they are mandatory for taking down Bastions, as only soldiers can open the protection dome. They are also one of the most lethal attacks a Giant can sustain. Additionally, when more than 50 soldiers are rallied, they can be redirected mid-charge for more fine-tuned tactics.
