What you earn and what you spend, during a match and across the playtest.

Augments

  • These upgrades strengthen a Giant's individual abilities and apply to an ability you choose: area of effect, duration, range and projectiles, where relevant.
  • The main way to earn augment points is to defeat enemy camps.
  • By default an augment costs 1 point, but the cost rises if you apply several augments to one ability, or the same augment to several abilities.

Merits

  • March of Giants has a single progression resource, called Merits.
  • Every destroyed unit and Giant drops Merits; you get more for landing the killing blow and for bounties on certain Giants.
  • Destroying map objectives also grants Merits.
  • Merits buy upgrades from the War-Shell menu at the Arsenal or in upgrade camps.

Pioneer Points

  • Finish matches to earn points and become a Pioneer.
  • Reach 1,000 Pioneer points.
  • Want to progress faster?
  • Watch participating streamers to raise the points earned for each finished match: a 20% bonus.

Pioneer Program rewards

  • Three rewards for reaching 1,000 points.
  • Pandemos: unlock the Giant Pandemos when it arrives on 12 October.
  • Pioneer Medal: be recognised as a Pioneer next to your name in every match.
  • Early access rewards: a free early access pack and exclusive profile customisations at the launch of early access.

Royal Orders

  • Special orders from your monarch that grant extra Merits when you land the killing blow on units, or assist in their destruction by an ally.
  • Royal orders are issued regularly as new units enter the battlefield.
  • Hover your Giant's Merit gauge to see how many you hold.

Warshell

  • The mobile combat station each Giant carries.
  • It can be strengthened at your Arsenal by buying upgrades with the Merits you earn.
  • Upgrades raise your base stats, strengthen your abilities and grant passive effects to counter enemy strategies.
  • War-Shell upgrades are your main means of progression.
