In the game's Codex
- March of Giants has a single progression resource, called Merits.
- Every destroyed unit and Giant drops Merits; you get more for landing the killing blow and for bounties on certain Giants.
- Destroying map objectives also grants Merits.
- Merits buy upgrades from the War-Shell menu at the Arsenal or in upgrade camps.
In the game's tutorial
Finishing off units grants Merits to your Giant, letting it upgrade its War-Shell at the Arsenal.
